I’m blogging over at the Pink Heart Society on Saturday, October 10, talking about reunions and why we all seem to get so worked up about going back to see the people we went to high school with. If you’ve got a story to tell about one of your reunions (or even if you don’t) stop on by!

Great news — The Wedding Heiress took first place in the Long Contemporary category of the Booksellers Best Contest. I was happy dancing all day when I found out! Finaling in the contest was truly an honor, but winning, well, I am just beside myself!

I’ll be blogging this Saturday, December 20th, at Noveltalk. After shoveling out from our last snowstorm and looking forward to another 7-12″ today, I began to muse about what was the best season in which to set a romance novel. That musing led to my post! Stop on by at http://noveltalkblog.blogspot.com/ and join the discussion!

I learned yesterday that The Sister Switch took first place in the short contemporary category of The Laurel Wreath contest. What a great Thanksgiving present! Now, of course, it’s Black Friday, and though I vowed not to shop today, I am about to head out for some bargains I can’t resist!

Thanks to everyone who entered my two contests for The Wedding Heiress. Congratulations to Melissa K. of Virginia Beach, Virginia who won the second contest — a $10 Amazon gift certificate and copies of my last two books.
Speaking of Amazon, they’re running a great sale right now — buy three get one free — on over 100,000 books (The Wedding Heiress included!). If you’re struggling with Christmas present ideas, consider giving everyone books — and save some money at the same time.
Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I had a great time at the National Romance Writers of America conference this year in San Francisco. Saw a lot of old friends, had some delicious meals in San Francisco, and came home ready to write! I always say if I come back from a workshop or conference having learned even just one new thing, it was worth it. Well, I learned plenty at this one, including pack clothes for every possible season when visiting San Francisco!

Here I am at the RWA booksigning that included 500 romance-fiction authors and raised $57,000 for literacy charities.

This is me and friends from the Wisconsin chapter of RWA at the always wonderful Harlequin Party, this year at the Four Seasons Hotel. The music was great, the food fantastic, and the friends loads of fun. (From left) Mary Biebel, Laura Iding, Jude Higgs (Judith Lyons), Me, Lori Handeland, and Ann Voss Peterson.
Before I sign off, I thought I’d share the quote my daughter just chose to put in her high school yearbook — “Sometimes you just have to take the leap, and build your wings on the way down.”
Here’s to building wings.
